The economy:

Russia is one of the largest economies in the world, given its vast territory, population and natural resources. It has a rich deposits of oil and natural gas, half of which is exported to other countries. Nevertheless, the share of Russia in the international trade is not great - 0.7% of world's imports and 1.8% of exports.

After China and Japan, Russia has at its disposal third largest foreign-exchange reserves in the world. Russia's main trading partners are Germany, Ukraine, China, Italy and the Netherlands.

Russia is considered attractive when it comes to location of the state capital. Regional authorities are conductive to foreign investors.
