The economy:

Russia is one of the largest economies in the world, given its vast territory, population and natural resources. It has a rich deposits of oil and natural gas, half of which is exported to other countries. Nevertheless, the share of Russia in the international trade is not great - 0.7% of world's imports and 1.8% of exports.

After China and Japan, Russia has at its disposal third largest foreign-exchange reserves in the world. 

Russia is considered attractive when it comes to location of the state capital. Regional authorities are conductive to foreign investors.
